<p>So this here is my new website. Rework of it is something I've been planning on a while, but the work didn't really get along until right now.</p>
<p>And hey, I have a blog now!</p>
<h2 id="the-lengthy-rework">The lengthy rework...</h2>
<p>Initially I was planning on writing another full-stack website - at first in Rust, then I switched to Go, but the amount of stuff I've tried to implement has completely consumed any chances of me getting it done - that's what scope creep does to you, folks!</p>
<p>My previous website remained stagnant because I completely forgot how my localization system worked and I didn't want to deal with it. <em>(Really should've pushed through that because it was still saying I was 18 years old when I am 20 now...).</em> I've decided to keep it simple for now - I needed a cradle on the Internet I could update quickly and without hassle, as to find motivation to actually write something on it.</p>
<p>As such, <strong>this rewrite is made with a static website generator!</strong> I used <a rel="noopener noreferrer external" target="_blank" href="https://www.getzola.org/">Zola</a> for this mission.</p>
<p>This means that updating this thing is real easy now! I hope that with reduced friction I'll be able to <em>really</em> spruce this place up.</p>
<p>Sadly, as a result of this, <strong>the guestbook was destroyed</strong>. I've <strong>published an <a href="/guest-book-archive">archive</a> of it</strong>, though, so no posts are lost - I really appreciate every one of them that you folks placed!</p>
<p>I plan to introduce some dynamic functionality later by embedding a separate service in the website's pages - some day, at least. With it I hope to bring the guestbook back! But for now...</p>
<h2 id="checksum-cooperative-a-bit-about-my-services">Checksum Cooperative - a bit about my services</h2>
<p>I used to have a list of services on my old website. When it all started, I didn't have a specific name, or organization, to collect them under - those were my personal services.</p>
<p>Some time later, I've placed them under a name of "IMC's Tea Empire" - because jokes about me and tea were common among my peers.</p>
<p>I kept this name up until recently, where I decided to make a rebrand. This rebrand is now represented on the website, too! <strong><a href="/checksum">Checksum Cooperative</a> now has a dedicated website section, and the Codex was placed under it, too.</strong></p>
<p>I plan to move Checksum Cooperative and it's services from my personal domain to a separate, dedicated one some day - once I find sufficient funding for it. Until that happens, information about it will reside on this website as usual.</p>
<p>Speaking of Codex...</p>
<h2 id="codex-updates">Codex Updates!</h2>
<p><a href="/checksum/codex">The Codex</a>, which is the Code of Conduct for Checksum Cooperative, received a major update.</p>
<p>For starters, I wrote out a Mission Statement, which are to essentially act as Core Rules of the Cooperative - outlining less of specific violations, and more of a general spirit of this hangout I am trying to setup..</p>
<p>I've also scratched the numeric enumeration of rules entirely and instead assigned them word tags like <a href="/checksum/codex#HATE">#HATE</a> - taking inspiration from shorthands <a rel="noopener noreferrer external" target="_blank" href="https://en.wikipedia.org">Wikipedia</a> uses to refer to their rules and essays. These shorthands also act as page anchors, so I can directly link people to relevant Codex entries!</p>
<p>There are some rule changes, too. Besides all of them getting rephrased, new rulings are introduced - <strong>namely, official prohibition of AI generated context, mandatory ALT-text and provisions against art theft</strong>.</p>
<p>I have additionally abolished the previous "temporary" (I wish!) rulings about Russian-Ukranian war. There are more than 1 wars going on in the world, and I figured that <strong>instead of making any war-related rulings I could rule any bloodthirsty positions under <a href="/checksum/codex#HATE">#HATE</a></strong>. After all, wishing for people to get their homes bombed is pretty hateful - at least in my opinion.</p>
<p>I'm still not entirely confident in the rules I wrote out, but I hope to iron them out as The Cooperative continues it's way forward. After all, it's not really realistic to try and forsee anything that is going to happen...</p>
<h2 id="conclusion">Conclusion</h2>
<p>Will I end up writing more than 1 blog article? Who knows! Either way, it's nice to finally refresh this place. I hope to make this place a lot more interesting than it was before!</p>
